ON EATING
I am genuinely concerned about the obesity epidemic in the U.S.! People are addicted to sugar, junk food, and seem to care less about obesity-related diseases.  You cannot exercise away a poor diet, and pharmaceuticals are NOT the answer. Moderation is key, and people need to get educated about food!  I try to eat as cleanly as possible on a daily basis.  My meals consist mostly of vegetables and lean proteins. My go-to snacks are fruits, nuts, and nonfat Greek yogurt. I don't eat much-processed food, and I don't eat much sugar. I do drink a lot of water. I do love chips!  This is my cheat snack, so I only eat chips in moderation.  I feel so much better when I'm eating well!
ON FITNESS
My fitness goals are fairly simple. I train for significant bicycling events with a combination of Spinning and outdoor cycling. I work on strength and endurance when training for these events.  I also was diagnosed several years ago with osteopenia, so I participate in a Bootcamp-style program twice a week to work on off-the-bike strength training. By doing weight-bearing exercises, I have reversed my bone loss and gained strong lean muscle and core strength.
 ON SLEEP
I love to sleep and definitely feel it when I don't sleep enough.  I try to get 7-8 hours a night, I'm not a napper so with my active schedule, if I don't get enough rest, I'll completely burn out by 9 pm.
 ON QUIETING YOUR MIND
With my busy schedule, it is not easy to quiet my mind or my body. I am working with people every day, constantly interacting and expending energy so then I crave quiet and solitude, but I'm not into meditation. What works for me is to find time every day to be in a quiet space where I might cook, bake, read, or even something as simple as folding laundry. This alone time works to recharge my batteries.
ON RELATIONSHIPS
Despite the loss I've experienced, I feel incredibly fortunate to have found real love in my life several times. I never stopped believing in love. It is so very powerful.
ON PARENTHOOD
Parenthood is the hardest job under the sun. I have two beautiful daughters who couldn't be more different. Each has challenged and rewarded me in different ways and most of all, have taught me how to be disciplined, compassionate, and to love unconditionally.  I recently became a grandmother, and it's an incredible experience to see Parenthood come full circle.
ON BEAUTY
If you feel beautiful, you are beautiful. I think we all need to work on our need for external validation of our beauty.
ON YOUR PLACE IN THE WORLD
I feel that I have done well with a 30+ year career in IT sales.  As a woman in a man's world, it has had its share of challenges but I had many mentors and people who believed in me along the way to whom I am very grateful.  I believe that every experience along the way in this career has prepared me to open, manage, and grow my own business.
ON GIVING BACK
I try to practice kindness, to motivate and inspire others, and to be a good human being.  I try to be kind always, especially to people who most need it.  And repay good deeds whenever possible.  My daughters were able to get through the hardest time in their young lives with the assistance of Gerard's House, a nonprofit grief support center for children. I am eternally grateful to Gerard's House, and I have proudly been serving on their Board of Directors for six years.  It doesn't take much to buy someone a cup of coffee, listen compassionately to a co-worker or a student when they are having a difficult time, or give an hour a month to an organization who does so much good in the community.
ON ENJOYING LIFE
Life is too short -- we should all be having as much fun as we can!
